Bonjour, Geneva!
Switzerland, could also be named as the hiker’s paradise, home of some of the most breathtaking landscapes which can be captured on trails. This past weekend was a perfect time to do some hiking with the amazing blue sky. This hiking was planned with a picnic on the Saleve. This mountain located at the French border, easily accessible from Geneva’s Cornavin main station. Just take the bus number 8 towards “Veyrier douane”, and let the cable car bring you to the summit.
Once at the top of the Saleve, a few additional trails gives you the chance to explore higher for even more stunning vistas. With a bit of luck, you may even spot the Mont Blanc.
On top of that , a walking tour along the Geneva lake is an also a must, where the iconic water fountain can be observed. You will also see mountains around the lake which makes your photos even better, it’s like admiring a painting .
Tip: Before you start your walk by the lakeside or your expedition on the Saleve, make sure to stop for a treat at “Holy Cow” , conveniently located opposite the Cornavin station. Trust me, this will give you energy before any adventure!
And remember, getting a picnic for your hike will make it all more memorable.
