Përshëndetje, Tirana!
Përshëndetje, Tirana!!
Tirana, the lively capital of Albania, is a destination that truly deserves to be on the list of every traveler’s plan. Nestled just north of Greece, it’s a city that combines historical charm with modern animation. Among the must-visit districts, Blloku is the most known one. It’s a trendy neighborhood with fancy coffee bars, restaurants, and local shops. A few minutes’ walk from Blloku, you will find Villa Era, a local restaurant renowned for its authentic Albanian cuisine. This hidden gem is worth a stop for anyone wanting to experience the local cuisine. Two typical dishes to recommend are Tavë dheu (traditional lamb casserole) and Patëllxhanë të mbushura (savory stuffed eggplants). Another great tip, close to Blloku as well, is the Imagine coffee bar, which is a very nice and local bar. The owner is very nice and welcomes you with warm hospitality. Coffee in Albania is exceptionally good and is a must-try.
For those who are fans of hiking and are seeking stunning vistas of Tirana, Mali i Dajti is the place to be. This mountain offers plenty to do for hiking enthusiasts, offering different level trails. Reaching the summit is easy by using a cable car, priced at around 6 euros for a round trip, providing a scenic journey to the top. The starting point for this adventure is conveniently located at the central bus stop, just behind the iconic Skanderbeg Square .
